From Humble Beginnings to New Beginnings

Church is more than just a building used for worship. It's more than a community of believers coming together to praise God. The Church is a family where all are invited and all are welcome.

It's that same sense of fellowship that led to the creation of Lighthouse Christian Community in November 2024, after the closure of Providence Methodist church, when members of the congregation decided that they still wanted to worship together, and found a way to make it happen.

The history of Providence can be traced back to the 1800s, when the first church was built, but even before then believers are known to have met locally to worship in humble settings, much as Lighthouse Christian Community does now.
